MEO Overview

Mapak Edible Oils (Pvt.) Limited (MEO) is a modern Edible Oil Refinery (a value-addition industrial unit) established on 12 acres of land at Port Qasim. MEO has been established under Pak-Malaysia Joint Venture between Westbury Group, Pakistan and FELDA Holdings Bhd.  Kuala Lumpur and KL-Kepong Bhd.  Ipoh, Malaysia. It is the largest Edible Oils Refinery in Pakistan.


MEO Refinery was commissioned for commercial production in April, 2006 and was formally inaugurated by the President of Pakistan on 25th July, 2006.


MEO is the Most Modern Edible Oil Refinery, having the latest Alfa Laval Refining technology-based on continuous Physical Refining Plants of 1,200 tons per day capacity (for Crude Palm Oil) besides Chemical Refinery Plants of 400 tons per day capacity (for other Soft Oils, Particularly, Crude Soyabean Oil and Canola Oil).

 

The Refinery has Storage Tanks with a total capacity of about 45,000 M. Tons of Oils and its products.


There is a well developed Quality Control System in the Refinery. The Modern Quality Control Laboratory is equipped with all the requisite facilities for analysis of all physical and chemical testing and other quality parameters of oil and product, during various stages of the production, storage and dispatch.


MEO conforms to internationally recognized systems of HACCP and SEDEX at its refining facility.


The Refinery ensures that all its procedures are environment friendly. All refinery effluents are processed through the effluent treatment plant before discharged to sewerage. MEO power-house is equipped with GE Genbascher 1 MW and 771 KVA capacities Natural GAS Generator sets for continuous round the clock provision of electric power along with standby diesel generator sets of reputed brands.


MEO Refinery is serving Vanaspati and Cooking Oil industry of Pakistan by providing them high quality fresh refined Edible Oils, particularly RBD Palm Oil, at their doorsteps at competitive price. In addition, it produces and supplies by-products such as PFAD (Palm Fatty Acid Distillate) to Soap manufacturers and other industrial consumers
